#30 - The Real Deal

© lloyd pollard

"Authentic leaders are authentic people first."

Monday, January 28, 2008 - 7:23 am

Gabbing on:
Authentic friends are authentic people first.
Authentic family are authentic people first.
Authentic heroes are authentic people first.
Authentic warriors are authentic people first.
Authentic creators are authentic people first.
Authentic lovers are authentic people first.
Authentic spirits are authentic souls first.
There is no substitute for the nature of who we are.

You can never be more or less than your intention. It is your inner nature that dictates what your thoughts and actions will consistently be over time.

Seek and express in every moment that which is in your heart, despite the judgment and opinion of others, and you will know authentic peace, joy and aliveness.

'Be' before anyone sees what you should 'be'.

#20 - Rules...(Ruby Dee)

"There are no rules for living with and being yourself.
Rules are for living with others."

Thursday, January 1, 2009 . 8:03 am

Gabbing on:
"Every rule has a context within which it is effective.
Every rule has an expiry date after which time it becomes ineffective.

Rules are made to ensure that there is a consistency in behaviour, values and beliefs.
Rules place agreed upon restrictions on an individual's actions, thoughts and method of living life.
Rules define the parameters within which you can live while receiving your community's highest honours, adoration and rewards.

Rules control change if indeed change is allowed."

#16 - Greatness...

"Greatness will not find you, it will grow out of you."

Tuesday, July 18, 2006

Gabbing on:
"Greatness will not grow from just anything.
It demands the rich soil of paradox, pain, passion and purpose.
It demands your secrets, your fears, your anger and your silence.
It demands consistency of desire, persistence of faith and the courage to be authentic against the tide of consensus.

It will claim from you humility, commitment and creativity.
It will raise you up and dash you against your dream, only to crush your limited expectations before releasing you to soar.
Greatness will promise you nothing but grant you all things, when you choose to ignore it and not seek it out.

It will only manifest itself to you through the eyes, deeds and actions of others in response to you.

So is greatness within us yet beyond us."
