#25 - The Unbearable Lightness of Being...Aware

"Sometimes you must step out of the light to be seen."

~ Saturday, February 24, 2007. 8:16 am
(Inspired by to the passing of Dennis Johnson,
Boston Celtic Basketball Player)

Gabbing on:
Sometimes you must do the unexpected to find a new path. The path of expectation is always well lit with the intentions and aspirations of those who love you and care for you. To stray from this path requires you to conquer your fear of taking the time to explore and acknowledge yourself without conscious and unconscious judgment.

Do you have enough awareness of yourself to remain authentic when the inevitably criticism and doubt comes from those who care for you, as you begin to travel on a new path beyond their expectations and yours?

* The burden of self is the weight of a million feathers lifted one at a time, one moment at a time.

#20 - Rules...(Ruby Dee)

"There are no rules for living with and being yourself.
Rules are for living with others."

Thursday, January 1, 2009 . 8:03 am

Gabbing on:
"Every rule has a context within which it is effective.
Every rule has an expiry date after which time it becomes ineffective.

Rules are made to ensure that there is a consistency in behaviour, values and beliefs.
Rules place agreed upon restrictions on an individual's actions, thoughts and method of living life.
Rules define the parameters within which you can live while receiving your community's highest honours, adoration and rewards.

Rules control change if indeed change is allowed."

#18 . Self-Value...

"Someone not wanting me does not mean I am not of value."

Tuesday, February 5, 2008 . 12:06 am

Gabbing on:
"Whether you desire me, respect me, understand me or accept me, has no impact on my value, I am still worth the same.

My value is not found in your interpretation or perception of me. It is found instead in my love, respect and appreciation of who I am."
