#16 - Greatness...

"Greatness will not find you, it will grow out of you."

Tuesday, July 18, 2006

Gabbing on:
"Greatness will not grow from just anything.
It demands the rich soil of paradox, pain, passion and purpose.
It demands your secrets, your fears, your anger and your silence.
It demands consistency of desire, persistence of faith and the courage to be authentic against the tide of consensus.

It will claim from you humility, commitment and creativity.
It will raise you up and dash you against your dream, only to crush your limited expectations before releasing you to soar.
Greatness will promise you nothing but grant you all things, when you choose to ignore it and not seek it out.

It will only manifest itself to you through the eyes, deeds and actions of others in response to you.

So is greatness within us yet beyond us."

I am yours...

"As your - lover, leader, partner, parent, enemy, child, coworker or friend - I will be the lens through which you will focus, filter and experience your greatness, disappointments, fears, anger, hopes, satisfaction, joys, uncertainties and awakening. Use me wisely, I am here for you whether you've consciously chosen me or not."

Gabbing on:
"What you need or what you want really does not matter - it is what you have that makes you what you are.

Everyone that experiences you will carry a part of your life story, whether they are family, friend, or foe. There is no one that you can exclude from your life story until you have acknowledged them and find their place in your authentic story.

So whatever I am to you, please understand my value and purpose in your current place and use me - it is only then that I will disappear into the natural space I am intended to occupy in your life."

#9 - Intentions

"My intentions cannot lie.
My actions do not lie.
Only my words can lie"

Monday, April 3, 2006

Gabbing on:
"Who you truly are will always show itself. You maybe able to use words to temporarily disguise your true colours but somewhere in your actions and expressions your intention will show itself.

Your intention is one thing that you cannot contain.
Whether you are aware of it or not, it is always there driving your life's course. If your intention is to love, hate or heal - your behaviour, thoughts and words will inevitably reveal this.

Your intention is your spirit's life mission. It is the thing that it works towards despite what you attempt to show to others externally.

You cannot consciously control intention, although we spend much of our life trying to dress it up to make it appear "unselfish" and "acceptable" to ourselves and those that are likely to judge us.

The most common overriding intentions are self-healing, self awareness and self preservation."

being original

"Be unlike, not like."

Saturday, December 2, 2006, 11:45 pm

Gabbing on:
"To be 'like', similar, or the same as, is to fit in and be accepted for meeting what is expected of you. You are not only acceptable but celebrated and even popular.
To be 'unlike' is to risk not fitting in and to potentially be seen unpopular. But it is through the 'unlike' and dissimilar filters that one more often than not will find originality, authenticity and personal meaning.

There are few positive rewards for being 'unlike' what is and has been before. It is often a lonely and solitary journey to walk an original path that is not accepted by the majority. But this is the road to self-definition, personal value development and meaningfulness.

Rarely are those that fit the consensus of being 'like', ever seen as inspiring, memorable and celebrated beyond the moments that they are currently living in. The mavericks of 'unlike' have left their mark on the minds, values and dreams of the generations that have dared to follow in their aspirations.

Each journey towards greatness is 'unlike' every other journey before it. It takes courage to walk the path of the unmajority.
